In 2022, we set out to simplify industrial layout planning — turning a process often buried in CAD files and spreadsheets into something fast, visual, and interactive.

The result was the Virtual Production Experience: a drag-and-drop tool for building machine lines from pre-defined parts. Developed in collaboration with ECON, specialists in plastic recycling, the app featured a ready-to-use library of their machines, all prepped for seamless snapping and simulation.

Users can quickly create full production lines by connecting components like digital LEGO. The tool ensures proper alignment, and once a layout is ready, a built-in simulation shows how material would flow through the system. Any errors? The app flags them — no guesswork needed.

More than a visualizer, it’s a practical digital twin for early-stage testing and validation. And while it started with plastic recycling, the system can easily scale to other industries with modular machine lines.
